COMMENT on Oprah's World 101 (sent Nov 2002) --- What the world thinks of Americans.

What we Americans fail to realize is that the world hates the same America that we do.  U. S. corporations running rampant and trampling our rights.  We have laws to protect us (after years of fighting and litigating) from many corporate abuses:  Minimum wages, safe work places, discrimination, water pollution, air pollution, deliberately defective products, harmful products, economic strangleholds and antitrust, raw materials (hoarding, to inflate prices, squandering), cheating stockholders, pensioners, workers, consumers, etc.

When these same American corporations are turned loose on the world without the restrictions we've forced them to live by here, its devastation on as grand a scale as international competition will permit.

In the mean time we Americans are led to believe that we control our government.  We are told we have a democracy.  Most have never heard of plutocracy (government by the rich and power mad nuts).  The fact is that BIG MONEY controls and we all know it.  We let the media (more consolidated than ever in history) keep our minds focused everywhere but where we should be looking.  Remember, the free press, is not free.  IT IS A GIANT BUSINESS.  It is corporate America's propaganda machine and the American people are its first victims, selling us crap we don't need, shaping our opinions with lies while claiming to give us unbiased facts, pandering to our lowest (blood and guts like the ancient Roman Coliseum).  At least in barbarian Rome people had to wait till Sunday to watch people get killed.  Now we can watch people get killed 24/7 on a hundred channels

We, the American people, are as much a victim of the America the world hates as the rest of the world.  Well, hardly as much a victim after years of fighting corporate greed (CAPITALISM IS BASED ON GREED), but we must keep fighting.  In many places we are losing ground (corporate theft, accounting fraud, stock fraud, etc). 

We, the American people, are so naive as to think that by making corporations behave (somewhat) here, that they would behave in places where the laws are different.  We think they only buy up our political system.  THEY BUY UP WHOLE COUNTRIES AND ENSLAVE THEIR PEOPLE.  Remember capitalism thrives on slavery.  They pay slave wages only if forced (greed control laws).  THEY START WARS and rebellions to sell arms (A GIANT BUSINESS) to both sides or to take a country's diamonds, gold and anything else they want.  They take over some countries just like they do in America today.  They hijacked the congress with Newt.  He was eventually fined half a million for taking all that illegal money to install his lock step voting congress and senate.  Newt's gone but many of his minions are still in office carrying out his "contract on America".  Then they hijacked the Presidency and installed His Fraudulency, George II.  This is followed by 9/11 which permitted them to hijack our civil rights.  Now they've are about to take over the world while we sit around saying "Yeah Bush"..
