This very sad period in our history had lasted for CENTURIES and was followed by segregation and discrimination to this very day (witness: school resegregation, the end of "Affirmative Action", rampant police brutality including  murder of innocent blacks across the country, unequal sentencing for blacks and whites leading to a prison industrial complex that is re-enslaving blacks, who are 70-80% of the prison population)  The War on Drugs is a War on Blacks.  Whites use most of the drugs but blacks suffer most of the casualties, dead or incarcerated;  While NONE of the $65 billion per year drug trade money ends up in the black community.  The black community has always been kept poor:  ergo --- When the injustice system catches a drug dealer, there are 50 desperate poor people fighting (killing each other) in line to take his place and make the "big" bucks, if only for a little while.

Yes, this is America.  The home of the free white men and the home of the brave..  You asked: Exactly how can it be?   We forget, women and blacks have had the "right to vote" for only a few decades, against the CENTURIES.  Prior to that women and blacks were not free in America.  In our idealized version of history, this has been the land of the free from the beginning.  NOT SO.  Most Americans don't know, or choose to forget, that Our "Founding Fathers" were Indian Hating Slave Owners.  Today we would call them White Supremacists and they've maintained control in America, until very recently (civil rights, yeah right).  That's Exactly how it can be.  Sorry, but there is no Santa Clause.

America has never been a democracy.  It has always been controlled by rich white men and their secret societies (e.g. Masons, Skull & Bones, etc.).  Some would call it a plutocracy, but the built in racism goes beyond plutocracy.  The electoral college is one of their many gimmicks to maintain power in the hands of white men.   It is not an accident that most U.S. Presidents have been Masons.

I will believe white men, white supremacists, and their secret societies have lost a little control, IF we can elect a woman or a black to the presidency.  FAT CHANCE.  Even if they didn't cheat with their on-going voter fraud.
