The Ancient Egyptian Connection: The Pyramid Connection
The Ancient Egyptians had an angle on the Nature of Thought. As they wrote in their pyramids, the gods were bodies of thought and human beings were directly connected to the "realm of the gods". {The source of thought?} The latter is clear in the pyramid texts "Coming out by day" (Book of the Dead). <--- Click to enlarge and read. This is the reference book used to point out The Ancient Egyptian Connection. The information is given in the introduction. Note: I start in the middle of the introduction to point out the connections. If the reader has no knowledge of Ancient Egyptian theology, the entire Introduction should be read. I recommend this book to anyone interested in Ancient Egypt.
To the Ancient Egyptian there is more to human beings than body and soul. They have (1) the khat (the physical body), (2) the saku (spiritual body), (3) the ab (heart), (4) the ka (double), (5) the ba (soul), (6) the khaibit (shadow), (7) the khu (intelligence), (8) the sekhem (form), (9) the ren (name). Some have direct connection with "the realm of the gods" and one actually exist in "the realm of the gods". {The + in Fig. 33, Chapter 1?}. <--- Click to enlarge and read pages lviii and lix. the khat (the physical body) - pages lviii and lix the saku (spiritual body) - pages lix, lx and lxi
There is an aspect of the the khat (the physical body) that, if preserved, can be used to recreate the entire human body. We would call that DNA today and in fact use it to determine relationships among the bones we have recovered from the tombs of Ancient Egypt. We haven't gotten far enough with our dreams like Jurassic Park to actually recreate a human being from DNA. The the saku (spiritual body) sounds a lot like our present-day idea of an immortal soul. But it is connected to the body like information is connected to DNA. I have shown this as another dimension I call Information Space where genetic (DNA) memory is connected to the source of thought. This text translation uses terms like 'heaven', 'where the gods dwell', etc. It must be remembered that our translation uses English words for Ancient Egyptian concepts. It is a mistake to assume/believe the concepts represented by English words are, in fact, identical to the associated Ancient Egyptian concepts. We know this is not true in many cases. One such case is the comparison between Ancient Egyptian gods to the Greek gods. The Greek gods are far more human in every respect than most Ancient Egyptian gods. The ancient Egyptian gods more often represented forces of nature, including human nature, instead of individual human-like personalities: Ra is not Zeus or Helios. A note for those who think that the Ancient Egyptian concepts were not that advanced: Remember the pyramids and their medicine. Then read The Rhind Papyrus by James R. Newman (Volume 1 of THE WORLD OF MATHEMATICS page 170 - Simon and Schuster - New York - 1956), "... a practical handbook of Egyptian mathematics, written about 1700 BC.", "... a respectable mathematical accomplishment, proffering problems ... the average intelligent man of the modern world ... would have trouble solving."
the saku (spiritual body) - pages lix, lx and lxi the ab (heart) - page lxi
The ab (heart) is "... the seat of the power of life and the fountain of good and evil thoughts". I called this Thought Space and Information Space for each individual. I use terminology like "Body of Thought" to refer to all the information (thoughts, cultural programs, genetic programs, conscious and unconscious memory) accessible to, and operating within, each person.
the ka (double) - pages lxii and lxiii.
The ka (double) exist in the human and in "the realm of the gods". It must be fed --- Information. Here I would use terminology like "Body of Information" to refer to all the information about, and associated with, each person. Or better said as the "Body of Information" that is that person. The requirement of "feeding" the ka is a statement that the ka must be thought about by someone(s) or it loses its connection in the real world.
the ba (soul) - pages lxiv and lxv.
The ba (soul) is more like our modern concept of soul than is the saku (spiritual body). But the text states clearly that the ba resides in the "the realm of the gods". Its connection with the ka leads me to think of each person's connection with the Source of Thought. It is the "Body of Thought / Information" that each person is, as seen from the Source of Thought.
